2022 Easter Egg Hunt Guide | Indianapolis and Surrounding Areas

Here comes Peter Cottontail, hoppin’ down the bunny trail. That’s right! Easter is on its way and we’ve got a calendar full of fun Easter-themed activities for you to enjoy with your family. A few of this year’s egg hunts are COVID-friendly and even creative with drive-thrus and egg hunt kits making the list. To get you started, check the many opportunities we’ve compiled to hunt for eggs.

 

Egg Hunts on Friday, April 8, 2022

Moonlight Madness Easter Egg Hunt at Broad Ripple Park

8:00 pm – 9:15 pm

Hop on out to Broad Ripple Park for an ‘egg-stra’ special flashlight surprise egg hunt and egg hunt show. Be sure you bring a flashlight and dress appropriately. There is limited space and registration is required.

Egg Hunts on Saturday, April 9, 2022

Bunnysaurus Rex at The Children’s Museum

8:00 am

Join Bunnysaurus Rex for a boxed breakfast with your family. Decorate your egg-collecting bag and hunt for eggs in The Sports Legends Experience. Tickets are $20-$25 for youth and $26-$32.50 for adults. For more information, visit The Children’s Museum webpage.

The Bunny Hop and Go at Summit Lake State Park, New Castle

8:00 am – 12:00 pm

The Easter Bunny has prepared DIY Easter Egg Hunting kits for the for 100 kids (any age) that enter the park. Participants can use the kits to create their own egg hunts in the park.

Breakfast with the Bunny, Greenwood

8:30 am or 10:00 am

Enjoy a yummy breakfast followed by an Easter Egg Hunt and a photo with the Easter Bunny. Tables are $40 each for up to 6 people. Masks and registration are required.

Sensory Friendly Easter Egg Hunt with Washington Township Parks

9:00 am-1:00 pm

Washington Township Parks and Rec will offer a Sensory Friendly Easter Program in their pavilion for friends that benefit from a personalized, quiet egg hunt. Each participant will have 25 eggs to find on their own patch of grass. Refreshments and other sensory friendly activities will be available and guests will have the opportunity to get their pictures taken with real bunnies. Registration required. Presidential Egg Roll at the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site

9:00 am – 10:30 am

Enjoy crafts, music, refreshments, and the only egg roll in Indy. Children will race to roll their decorated eggs through the grass as the Easter Bunny cheers them on. There will be a prize for the best decorated wooden spoon. This lively event is free for both children and their parents, but space is limited so registration is required. Eggstravaganza at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, Indianapolis

9:00 am

Come prepared for bounce houses, a train to the Easter Bunny photo booth, story-telling, crafts, games, an egg hunt for the little ones (0-4 years), a RAFFLE, and LOTS and LOTS of fun, prizes, and treats! Please register ahead of time. More information is available on St. Luke’s website.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Piney Acres, Fortville

9:30 am – 11:30 am or 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm

Piney Acres’ Annual Easter Egg Hunt will have plenty to do for everyone! Activities will include crafts, games, hayrides, visits with the Easter Bunny, visits with farm animals and more. Breakfast and lunch with the Easter Bunny will also be available for an additional cost. Registration is required and can be found here. Cost is $15 per child (2-12) and $5 per adult and little tot.

Easter Egg Hunt at Province Park, Franklin

10:00 am – 10:15 am

Children 2-10 will be divided into age groups to hunt for eggs in Province Park. Be sure to arrive early because this is a quick event. CHekc the event website for details!

Easter Eggstravaganza, Summit Lake State Park

12:00 pm – 2:00 pm

Come out and celebrate Easter with an easter egg hunt! Over 2000 eggs are used during this event. The event is free with park admission. This event will take place at the Nature Center and Harvey Shelter. Face Painting, Games, and the Easter Bunny will entertain kids of all ages. Snacks and drinks available for $1. Donations go to the Nature Center and naturalist programs! 1:00 pm (on the dot)- Egg Hunt. Kids ages 1-4, 5-8, and 9-14 have separate hunting grounds.

Easter Egg Hunt at Kennedy Park, Shelbyville

12:00 pm

Head to Kennedy Park for this free community event. Kids ten years old and under should be ready to hunt as the clock strikes noon! The Easter Bunny will be available for pictures too!

Community Egg Hunt by Trinity Church

In previous years kids through Grade 4 were invited to hunt for 5,000 candy-filled eggs. They had a chance to win $1000 in prizes!  This will take place at Trinity Church at Garfield Park for 2022. More info to come!

Egg Hunts on Saturday, April 16, 2022

Hide and Peep Egg Hunt at Clay Terrace

9:00 am -11:00 am

Hop on over to enjoy the Easter egg hunt at the Clay Terrace Annual Hide & Peep Egg Hunt. There will be thousands of eggs to hunt for on the Clay Terrace Lawn. Open to children 0-10, registration required.

Easter Egg Hunt at Donner Park

10:00 am

Head to Donner Park in Columbus for their annual Easter egg hunt. Ages 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 | April 16 | 10am
Donner Park. If raining, candy and eggs will be distributed in the Donner Center. Please bring a bag or basket for your eggs

Egg-ceptional Egg Hunt for Kids with Special Needs at Donner Park, Columbus

11:00 am

This is a sensory friendly, quiet egg hunt for kids with sensory or special needs from walkers to 13 years of age. There will be lots of eggs and prizes. Check their website for updated information.

Easter Egg Event at Main Street Park, Whitestown

10:00 am – 1200 pm

Join Whitestown Park & Recreation for our annual Easter Egg Hunt, presented by Traders Point Christian Schools, at Main Street Park. We will have hundreds of eggs stuffed with goodies for the kids to grab. The Easter Bunny will also be available to take photos!

Easter Egg Hunt at Hope Community Church, Brownsburg

1:00 pm

Children 0-12 are invited to this free hunt for 10,000 Easter eggs! The event will be held outside and children will be separated into groups (0-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12), so everyone will leave with lots of prizes and treats.
